A father with three growing kids needed an updated home that would function in a way that served his lifestyle. It was clear from the onset that he could see his house as a valuable tool in creating deep and meaningful collaborations within its walls.  Architect Richard Terrones of DTA had opened up the home's rear to harmonize compositionally without mimicking the traditional facade. In turn, clean lines and large modern Bonelli windows saturated the new addition and provided an easy segue to the outdoors.  The challenge for us on the interior side would be to create working spaces in the home that would meet one busy man's needs and, at the same time, provide finishes that could act as a liaison between old and new.
